CONNECTIONS EVENTS

PASTOR APPRECIATION GREETING FROM GENERAL OVERSEER

"I want to join with those voices in expressing my sincere appreciation for the pastors who serve the family of the Church of God of Prophecy. The service of these men and women is unique. God has entrusted them with the most precious assignment - care for the people of God. And many do so at great sacrifice to willingly obey the call of God.
I also wish to thank our pastoral spouses and families for their ministry, as well-serving alongside our pastors through seasons of joy and difficulty.
While October is a designated month of celebration, we should be mindful that appreciation, affirmation, and prayer support of our spiritual leaders is appropriate throughout the entire year. I invite and urge our members throughout this great body to do so not only this month, but throughout the coming year.
To our pastors, on behalf of the global ministry of the Church of God of Prophecy, I want to say a sincere, heartfelt, "thank you" for your faithfulness and ministry. The ministry of this great church is only possible through capable men and women just like you. Please know that Linda and I pray for you daily in our devotional time.
May God bless and strengthen you as you continue in your service to Him."

HEARTLINES FOR PASTOR'S WIVES: Be Of Good Cheer For There Is Hope

"In His Word, God has provided us with the necessary tools for living peacefully and confidently. "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." The living Word of God helps us to take steps of faith and believe that the key to victory lies in the measure of our faith, and in faith without measure. Do not give up when facing life's difficulties and challenges. Set your eyes upon the Author and Finisher of faith. Take a step forward, continue to believe, and decide to be of good cheer, for there is hope."

THE WORD OF GOD by Elwood Matthews

"The Bible, the inspired Word of God, is the foundation of the Christian faith. It is the medium of God's addressing man and the means of man's knowing of the incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Since all intelligent faith in the supernatural rests ultimately upon the divine origin, plenary inspiration, and infallible authority of the Bible as the Book of God, it is only natural that this book becomes the very center of both the attack and the defense of the whole system of Christianity. Therefore, we must have an intelligent, rational, unshakable confidence in the Word of God as divine in origin, inspired of the Holy Spirit, a safe guide for belief and a sure pattern for practice."

MODELING AND INSPIRING STEWARDSHIP

In the early church, there was an exciting fervor of stewardship that captivated the believers. So, we must ask ourselves, "What is our attitude toward giving?" Using Biblical examples, Bishop Benjamin Duncan shares thoughts on modeling and inspiring stewardship.
