Encounter Prayer Event
January 5-6, 2015

LIVE Simulcast Event
January 14, 2015
It is impossible to genuinely encounter Christ and walk away unchanged. Ask Paul, Mary Magdalene, Matthew, Zacchaeus, the woman with the issue of blood, Nicodemus, blind Bartimaeus-the list could go on and on of people whose lives were transformed by an encounter with Christ.
For the past seven years, the global family of the Church of God of Prophecy has been called to start the New Year with a season of prayer and fasting. We recognize that prayer is our first core value and the foundation for all our ministry efforts. The annual twenty-one days of prayer and fasting is just one way that we walk out this core value in a very important way.
Once again this year, we are calling on our churches and members to mobilize their efforts and join us in a concentrated time, seeking God's direction for our ministries locally, nationally, and globally.
We are seeking God for a divine encounter through prayer. We are asking Him to continue to bring breakthrough in our lives, homes, churches, and nations.
For twenty-one days, beginning January fifth, we will unite around specific daily prayer directives. These prayer directives will be available through our downloadable resources and on our social media. We will be inviting our leaders to share additional prayer points and insights throughout the weeks to help insure our prayers are touching the most current needs.
On January fourteenth, the International Offices will be inviting viewers to join their annual Night of Prayer live via simulcast. During this time, viewers will be able to submit requests that will be prayed over by those in the prayer meeting, as well as those watching online.
Additional information about these resources and the simulcast event are available online at www.cogop.org.
After an encounter with the resurrected Christ, the two disciples on the road to Emmaus asked each other, "Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way...?" As we unite together in prayer, it is my hope the Father will be pleased with us, that He will speak to us, and our hearts will be set ablaze with a passion for Him that will carry us throughout the entire New Year.
Thank you for your plans and efforts to join us. I believe even greater things are ahead for the Church of God of Prophecy, but they will only be obtained through prayer and fasting.

FEATURED SPEAKERS
Warren Barfield and Lynda Stein join speaker lineup for Create
At eighteen Warren Barfield used his dorm room as an office and booked one year of concerts. With his parents' blessing he loaded his 1995, 4 cylinder, mint green Mustang with a suitcase and a guitar and took his songs on the road. After more than 600 "gigs" and 200,000 miles, Warren found himself in Nashville, TN signing his first record deal. Since his arrival in Nashville, he has released three records, had five songs top the Christian charts, received two Dove nominations, worked with legendary producers including Brown Bannister, Mark Hammond, Marshall Altman, Charlie Peacock, and Mark Miller. He's shared the stage with the best of CCM artists from Steven Curtis Chapman and Third Day to Toby Mac. He wrote and recorded "Love is Not a Fight" which was the theme song for the #1 indie film FIREPROOF. He shares his songs and stories with thousands every year as he tours the country. Warren currently lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Megan, their son Montgomery and their daughter Ada Beth. Warren's description of his journey goes like this, "I have seen every dream I had as a fifteen year old in Spivey's Corner, NC come true."

Lynda Stein

PASTOR APPRECIATION GREETING FROM GENERAL OVERSEER
Click on the image above to view the greeting in English
"I want to join with those voices in expressing my sincere appreciation for the pastors who serve the family of the Church of God of Prophecy. The service of these men and women is unique. God has entrusted them with the most precious assignment - care for the people of God. And many do so at great sacrifice to willingly obey the call of God.
I also wish to thank our pastoral spouses and families for their ministry, as well-serving alongside our pastors through seasons of joy and difficulty.
While October is a designated month of celebration, we should be mindful that appreciation, affirmation, and prayer support of our spiritual leaders is appropriate throughout the entire year. I invite and urge our members throughout this great body to do so not only this month, but throughout the coming year.
To our pastors, on behalf of the global ministry of the Church of God of Prophecy, I want to say a sincere, heartfelt, "thank you" for your faithfulness and ministry. The ministry of this great church is only possible through capable men and women just like you. Please know that Linda and I pray for you daily in our devotional time.
May God bless and strengthen you as you continue in your service to Him."

HEARTLINES FOR PASTOR'S WIVES: Be Of Good Cheer For There Is Hope

"In His Word, God has provided us with the necessary tools for living peacefully and confidently. "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." The living Word of God helps us to take steps of faith and believe that the key to victory lies in the measure of our faith, and in faith without measure. Do not give up when facing life's difficulties and challenges. Set your eyes upon the Author and Finisher of faith. Take a step forward, continue to believe, and decide to be of good cheer, for there is hope."

THE WORD OF GOD by Elwood Matthews

"The Bible, the inspired Word of God, is the foundation of the Christian faith. It is the medium of God's addressing man and the means of man's knowing of the incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Since all intelligent faith in the supernatural rests ultimately upon the divine origin, plenary inspiration, and infallible authority of the Bible as the Book of God, it is only natural that this book becomes the very center of both the attack and the defense of the whole system of Christianity. Therefore, we must have an intelligent, rational, unshakable confidence in the Word of God as divine in origin, inspired of the Holy Spirit, a safe guide for belief and a sure pattern for practice."

MODELING AND INSPIRING STEWARDSHIP

In the early church, there was an exciting fervor of stewardship that captivated the believers. So, we must ask ourselves, "What is our attitude toward giving?" Using Biblical examples, Bishop Benjamin Duncan shares thoughts on modeling and inspiring stewardship.
