On May 1^st, 2012 our campus tour will be at Bessemer City High School in Bessemer, AL. There are around 1,200 students who will attend these assemblies. The principal is requesting that we do a specialize assembly just for the freshmen class, which is made up of 428 students. This school is in desperate need. Almost every time we have been at this school, during school hours, the police have been actively addressing situations. Much prayer is needed and we are believing for the super-natural power of God to hit this school and bring deliverance

Isaiah 55:11
“So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

When we preach the Gospel to large crowds we expect there to be people who do not listen or who do not respond. We just say that their hearts were not ready. They weren’t ready to surrender to the Lord. What if we are wrong? What if they didn’t respond because someone was distracting them?

During February at St. Clair County High School, the Gospel was preached at our campus tour and many people went forward to be saved… over 161 people. After the event several people from our team, along with myself, went out to the exit doors and asked every person if they had prayed the prayer of salvation. Some people said yes, while others said no. I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to ask the next person that told me no, if they wanted to pray the prayer with me.

A young man walked out and I asked him if he prayed, he said, “no.” With a little hesitation, I asked him if he wanted to pray with me now. He stood there for a minute and responded, “Actually I do want to.” I was shocked. I’m not sure why, but I expected him to say no. Then the Lord reminded me that His Word had gone forth and it is full of life and power. So I stood there with that young man and we prayed the simple, but powerful prayer of salvation. He asked God for forgiveness and proclaimed Him Lord of his life. When we finished the prayer, I gave him a booklet about getting to know God and he walked away. I will probably never see him again, but I know that night he was forever changed.

Never take for granted that just because someone was in the room when the Gospel was preached and they didn’t respond that they didn’t want to. Be bold and step out in faith knowing the power that is in God’s word and ask again.
